Personal best - common carp of 15lb exactly. On pole with Daiwa white hydro, 4.4lb mainline, 3.2 hooklength to a Drennan red barbless. Alternating between double red maggot and 4mm expander and TBH don't know what I was using when I caught it. I do know it took me about 15 - 20 mins to get it in, and my arm was aching.

When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation. |

| Sedges (brick) is one of my favourite venues. Chuck the wag or lead for 3 figure weights of carp (you dont need many for a ton) or choose a peg in the middle of the causeway bank and bag up with skimmers. Jamie and Denise very friendly and helpful and keep the place nice |

Cracking fish, well done.
Tile is the old Speccy lake James, with the islands.
Our last two weeks silver fish series matches on Brick were won with 50lb & 44lb respectively, cracking, we love it. Ron & I don't bother with too many places these days, we used to travel everywhere to Supercup etc, the Sedges is first choice and I think we are booked in to nearly all the matches this year. Denise and Jamie as you have said have made it look nice, John was a good lad but preferred his Bacardi & Coke to work! CU wherever.

| My first visit to the Sedges yesterday for cheeky 3 hours, very impressed with the quality and variation of the fish and the venue.Chose to sit on Canal, fish down the middle for some super quality cruisans, tench, skimmers and ronnies, could,nt resist the temptation of the far bank for the last hour for some quality carp. The venue is a real gem. |

yes this is a commercial with a difference ,the owners are fantastic and genuinely like you to enjoy yourselves and are happy for you to use nets "theirs" and a tiny number of rules infact i think a lot of commercials would do well to note how well run and recieved the place is and with regular matches and caravan accomodation i am a regular their now travelling down a couple of weeks a year from herts for some serious bagging. |

Brick has bundles of decent sized skimmers, 40lb of these a possible chance if you fish well, plenty of carp too. Margins slowly coming into play, but wag or bomb works well.
Tile has, i think, more smaller fish, skimmers, roach and a few tench and proper bream kicking around aswell as plenty of carp.
Eels go biggish in both, to 6lb or so. |
