Maggot Times - July 2002
- This weekend we hosted the 'Northern Fish-in', the largest charity Fish-in that the north of England has ever known. Our aim was to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Relief and we think we have succeeded with over £5,000.00 being collected.

Sunday 28th July 2002. Loch Gowna, Co. Cavan.
The National Coarse Fishing Federation of Ireland's premier event, the Healy Group All Ireland Open Championships is due to take place on Sunday 28th July 2002.
This is the 3rd year of the Healy Group sponsorship. The Healy Group is a leading supplier into the Food, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industries in Ireland and the UK and the NCFFI are delighted to be working with Healy Group to make this event a huge success.
This year the event has changed venue with the village of Loch Gowna hosting the event for the first time in almost 10 years. This aptly named "Village of the Lakes" plays host to Anglers from all Over Ireland and the UK, with a turn out in excess of 200 anglers expected for this prestigious 1 day event.
Preparations for the event are progressing with the assistance of the Northern Regional Fisheries Board and the host club Loch Gowna & Upper Erne Anglers Association. Sincere thanks to both organisations for their hard work on this event so far and to all Landowners who allow us to cross their land for access.
The Competition is open to all anglers with Senior Juniors and Ladies Section prizes on the day. The draw for pegs will take place at 9.00am in The Piker's Lodge, Loch Gowna, Co. Cavan. The draw is limited, so anglers are advised to come early.
The presentation of prizes will take place at 6.30pm in The Piker's Lodge and all are welcome.
The NCFFI look forward to a successful Healy Group All Ireland Championships and encourage all Seniors, Juniors and Lady anglers to participate and wish all competitors "Tight Lines" for the event.
