I'm still using the Technium (though it's pretty rare that I actually fish the pole) and I think that it punches well above it's weight but if the Daiwa is a lot better then it really must be a good buy at that price

yeah i think shimano was doing a great job pole wise (allways great quality with shimano),no idea where they disapeared too , i wouldnt of bought a new budget pole if shimiano had the top kits available to buy for my shimano technium, but you try finding one ????? i looked everywhere , and the idiots on ebay are are asking 60 to over 180 per kit now .
i now have a decent technium 13m pole in good condition for sale if you or anyone else interested for 100 quid all sections on the pole are sound,no chips or cracks , all original sections , only one top power two though , i do have another power top two but it has a crack about 8 inches along the lenght of the number 2 ( i bought it like that ) number 1 is sound , kupping kit is original but has been cut and telescoped to the exact lenght of the power top twos makig it super rigid .
its a decent pole , all the pole sections are originals and in top condition , still in cloth bag and all in tubes inculding the mini extension .
if no one replys here ill put in classifieds but failing that it will go on ebay , got to be worth it for 100 quid i paid double that

ps its supplied in a shakeaspere hold all
